Interdistrict Permit Processing Flow

If a parent/guardian wants to enroll a student in the Kelseyville Unified School District, a Request for Interdistrict Attendance must begin at the students current district of residence. Once the current district of residence processes the permit, the district will forward the request to the Kelseyville Unified School District for final evaluation. If the Kelseyville Unified School District receives a Request for Interdistrict Attendance prior to receiving approval from the originating District, the Kelseyville Unified School District will forward the request to the appropriate District for consideration.

Processing Timeline

Taking Applications Until July 31st

For an interdistrict request received by the district 15 or fewer calendar days before the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision 30 calendar days from the date the request was received.

For an interdistrict request received by the district more than 15 days before the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision as soon as possible, but no later than 14 calendar days after the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the transfer is sought.

Decisions Made August 1 - Letters Sent to Families First Week of August

You will receive a letter either granting or denying your transfer application in early August. Approval or denial of requests will be granted based on space availability and the review of any information or documents that must be submitted as supporting evidence.

2024-2025 School Year Enrollment

The Kelseyville Unified School District will be processing their interdistrict agreements for the 2024-2025 school year beginning July 31st, 2024. Any agreements received prior to July 31st, 2024 will not be processed until then.

The Welcome Center processes Interdistrict Request Permits for regular and employment related transfers. If you need a permit application you may download the form from the KVUSD website or call the Welcome Center at 707-279-1511 ext. 1033.
