Maintenance

The Maintenance department maintains the Districts buildings, grounds, and maintenance needs. We also perform alterations, and new construction adhering to State and Federal standards in and out of the classroom. We work closely with local, State, and Federal organizations and programs that have areas or programs at our sites that interact with our students and staff daily.

The department helps provides a safe, efficient, and clean learning environment for students and staff at all of our sites. We are lucky to have a skilled and hard-working staff that has a tremendous amount of pride. Our focus is to provide indoor and outdoor facilities and athletic fields that everyone can use and enjoy.

MISSION

The Maintenance department is to support the overall mission and values of the District maximizing a healthy, safe, pleasant, and functional environment for learning.

KHS MODULAR PROJECT

KVUSD SOLAR POWER

RES Solar Field

The KVUSD school board entered into a 20 year Solar Power Purchase Agreement “PPA” with Solar City in early 2016. (The solar fields at the Kelseyville High School, Mountain Vista Middle School, and Riviera Elementary School are designed, built, owned, maintained, and completely paid for by Solar City.) A “PPA” is where the developer sells the solar power generated to the host customer (KVUSD) at a fixed rate that is much lower than the local utility’s retail rate. This lower electricity price serves to offset the customer’s purchase of electricity from the grid, while the developer receives the income from the sale of electricity as well as any tax credits, and other incentives generated from the system. The “3” solar facilities will produce an estimated 829,196 kWh in the first year of operation and 15,819,324 kWh over 20 years. The District’s first year savings from the solar alone are projected to be $111,639 and are estimated to be $3,453,900 over the 20-year contract life.
