Mountain Vista Education Growth Periods
We have had a few questions regarding our FOCUS and W.I.N periods. These are similar to the PRIDE and HOME ROOM periods that students have had the last couple of years, but we feel they are better set up to meet the needs of every single student on campus.
FOCUS: During this period, some students are scheduled into their AVID class, some students are receiving some extra intervention on reading or math skills, and some students will work with their teacher to evaluate what they need to work on during W.I.N.
W.I.N: Stands for What I Need. During this period, students who are not yet proficient in a learning target, will go to the teacher that they need in order to have the learning target retaught. Students who did meet the learning target will go to the grade level teacher that they need in order to extend their learning beyond the target.
